  • The Crusaders sit down to a feast that night and swap ghost stories. The next morning when they board their new ship everyone is wary for evil spirits lurking around. Ghost stories will do that to you.
  • After their next boat trip, they continue to make their way on land. That night they put up tents since there is no inn; Edmund is told that the tents don't strike a match compared to the ones on the Holy Land.
  • Before sleeping, Edmund and Hubert swap stories about monsters that live in Jerusalem. Um… sweet dreams, guys.
  • As they journey on, the crew slowly becomes more Crusade-worthy. Edmund spends his days in camp practicing his sword skills, and they all become fit and tan the longer they travel. They even start to notice that the men they meet are afraid of them.
  • Edmund asks Nigel superstitious questions about the "Mussulmen" who have taken the Holy Land. He wonders if the Devil rides out to battle with them, but Nigel assures them that, from the little he knows, they look like ordinary humans.
  • Suddenly, they get a whiff of the sea.
