- The army can hear the sound of skirmishing in the distance, and they watch as men makes lists, entering and leaving the city of Acre with goods.
- Rannulf summons Edmund to follow him into one of the counting tents that's full of treasures being counted. Edmund starts naming the gems, familiar with them from his days with Otto.
- Rannulf tells him that they must advise the king; otherwise he will melt down these treasures from the East.
